Young 5’s   Children who are developmentally 5 years old by the time they begin kindergarten are typically those who are the most successful in kindergarten.  If your child has a late birthday or would benefit from another year of development, our Young 5’s program would provide a precious gift of time and opportunities, to develop and strengthen the skills necessary for kindergarten.

Kindergarten  The kindergarten teacher’s desire is for our students to know and sense that each moment of their day, whether in academic lessons, specials or classroom management, is filled with God’s love and presence.  Our reading program is built upon the Zoophonics series but also incorporates many best practices including journaling, word walls, morning messages and the Four Blocks.  Each lesson is designed to be developmental so that each child can learn to read and write at their own pace. Math skills are incorporated and taught each day with an emphasis on building a strong foundation for future learning.  Manipulatives and hands on learning are emphasized to teach skills including counting to 115, counting backwards, skip counting, sequencing, patterning, addition, subtraction and much more.  The children are also encouraged to become involved participants as they study social studies and science curriculums that stress God’s hand in every aspect of life.
