Personal Biography

My husband Kevin and I have been married for 23 years. Kevin is a
systems analyst at Steelcase. We have two daughters.
Erin just turned 20 and is a junior at Hope College majoring in nursing.  She hopes to be a medical missionary nurse in Guatemala.  Kara is 17 and senior at Unity Christian. She is planning a career in psychology.  As a family, we love all sports, either playing them or watching them. We also love to camp and go to Florida for spring vacation. We are members at Hager Park Reformed Church and are involved in many activities. I teach Sunday school, serve on the Service Evangelism Team, lead mission trips to Guatemala, sing on the praise team, and do children’s messages twice a month.

Professional Biography

IIn 1985, I graduated from HOPE COLLEGE with a B.A. in Education. I had a triple major - regular education (K-8) and special education (K-12) for both learning disabilities and emotional impairments.  I also have my endorsement in mental impairments.   I taught for three years in Greenfield, Wisconsin in a multi-categorical classroom, and then I taught for the Christian Learning Center for 18 years, ten at Hudsonville Christian Elementary School, and eight years at Allendale Christian School in the Resource Room.  This is my second year teaching 2nd Grade at Allendale Christian School.

Philosophy Biography

God created each child uniquely, in his image. I feel so blessed that I am able to
fulfill my love for God and His children by faithfully serving Him at
Allendale Christian School. By working in partnership with other teachers, board members, and parents, I am able to provide a Christ-centered education for all my
students, developing their unique gifts and talents for use in the classroom and out in the world today.  Every day is a gift from God!

What better way can you spend each day than to teach at ACS!
