| My husband and I both grew up in Jenison. We both attended Jenison Christian and Unity Christian High School. We now live in Hudsonville. We have been blessed with two wonderful daughters Lindsay and Meghan. We really enjoy and keep busy doing various activities with our daughters. Spending time with family is a priority for us. We also enjoy golfing, walking, and going to high school and college sporting events. We are members of Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church and are also actively involved there. |

In 1986, I graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. degree in elementary education. My first 2 ½ years of teaching, I taught first grade here at Allendale Christian School. Following that, I stayed at home with our two daughters and also did some substitute teaching. When our youngest daughter began school, I started teaching preschool here at Allendale Christian. After teaching preschool for 10 years I felt called to make a change to 3rd grade. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to teach at Allendale Christian School. It is a wonderful family to be a part of. |
Philosophy
Biography
I believe that each child is a unique child of God, with his or her own special gifts and abilities. My goals are to make each child feel special; to nurture the gifts and abilities God has given him or her, and to provide the children with a positive experience in school. In all things, I want to show and teach the children about the love of God. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
