Personal Biography

I grew up on a small farm in West Lafayette, Indiana and came to Grand Rapids to attend Calvin College during the school year and to work at Camp Roger during the summer. My husband Ben and I have been married for five years. We live in Grand Rapids with our adorable cat 'Bostwick' and are members of Sherman Street Christian Reformed Church. You will often find us working in our yard and garden, participating in church youth group, hiking, reading, and cooking!

Professional Biography

I graduated from Calvin College in 2000 with a degree in elementary and special education. I have previously taught 3rd/4th grade at Oakdale Christian School and 3rd grade at Kelloggsville and Legacy Christian Schools. This is my second year at ACS teaching 4th grade.

Philosophy Biography

God is good! He has thoughtfully created me and my students in His incredible image. The wonder and diversity of His creation is revealed to me through the daily interactions, unique abilities, and creative work of my students. My prayer is that I can teach with my words and show with my actions the saving grace of Jesus Christ to each of my students, while challenging them to share Christ's love with others and to live as servants for the Lord in our world.
