I was born and raised here in West Michigan.  I graduated from Calvin College where I studied elementary education and Spanish.  I lived in Spain for 6 months while studying Spanish.

My husband, Aaron and I have been married since 2004.  He works as a commercial real estate agent for Ben Muller Realty in Grand Rapids.   We enjoy spending our summers at family cottages in Pentwater and Holland.  Our son, Asa, was born in 2007.  He is the joy of our lives!  Much of my family time is spent outdoors, going to the park, out on the lake, and walking the bike path near our home.  We live with our cat in Grand Rapids and attend Church of the Servant CRC.

I graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School in 1997.  I then attended Michigan State University for 3 years with the intention to go to Veterinary School.  However God had other plans, I transferred to Calvin College where I graduated in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education.   I have minors in both Spanish and Science. 

I taught Pre-school in a child care center for one year after graduating.  I taught kindergarten for one year and am now teaching Young 5’s.  I am so happy that God found me a great home school here at Allendale Christian.

I believe that children are our most important resource.  I believe that teaching a child is a relationship between teacher, parent, and the church.   I strive to nurture their relationship with God and help them learn Bible stories.   I strive to help my students discover their gifts and talents.
