Service Opportunities

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

At Allendale Christian School, our mission is to graduate students who are academically prepared, called to service, and spiritually equipped. The call to service is a very important part of preparing students to be good stewards of the gifts that God has blessed them with. We seek out opportunities for students to serve others, both in the global and local arenas. Below are some of the opportunities to serve at ACS.

Local Service Opportunities ACS staff and students are dedicated to serving local organizations. Local organizations that we aim to support are Mel Trotter Ministries, Love, INC., Hand2Hand Ministries, Revive Resale Store, and more. We are grateful for and blessed by the opportunity to help many organizations and ministries who serve the local community.

Guatemala ACS has created relationships with Guatemala in relationship with Paradise Bound Ministries. We have had a student from Guatemala, Jenri, attend ACS while in the US for a cochlear implant. In the summer of 2014, ten ACS eighth grade students and five staff members traveled to Guatemala to build houses, work with an orphanage, and bring Christ to the people. We look forward to more opportunities to support and work in Guatemala in the future. To further our relationship with Guatemalans, ACS is part of the Faces and our Culture program, where Guatemalan middle school students attend ACS for eight weeks in the fall. Below is a picture of ACS students visiting a school in Guatemala.

Free Free Orphan Academic School (FOAS) The Free Orphan Academic School (FOAS) near Kampala,Uganda, has become a sister school to ACS. FOAS is in an area that is predominantly non-Christian, so the school, for many, is the only opportunity to learn more about Christ and His love. Despite the distance, ACS staff and students have been able to support our brothers and sisters at FOAS through gifts of mosquito nets, books, and teaching supplies. FOAS staff and students also spend time in prayer for ACS. Below are pictures of the FOAS building, FOAS students in class and receiving mosquito nets, as well as a group of ACS students after the mosquito net fundraiser.
