My husband Marc and I have been married for eight years. Marc is an engineer at Perrigo in Allegan. We recently moved to Allendale from Holland. God has blessed us with three children, one girl and two boys. We also have a dog, a Siberian Husky, named Oakley to keep us busy. I love spending time together at home with my family, reading books, watching movies, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. We attend Redemption Church in Grandville, where I love being involved in teaching the preschool the story of redemption through Jesus.
I had the privilege of attending Christian schools all the way through college. I graduated from Reformed Bible College (now Kuyper College) and Cornerstone University in 2003. I worked at Appletree Christian Learning Center as a lead teacher then moved onto substituting everywhere in the Ottawa and Kent County public school system. It was challenging to find a teaching job in the West Michigan area, so God led me to a small Christian school in Virginia where I was honored to be their 3rd grade teacher for two years. I then moved back to Michigan, got married, and taught preschool for three years at Holland Christian. Since my daughter was born, I have been a stay at home mom and I count it a blessing to join the family here at Allendale Christian in teaching preschool.
I truly believe every child is a gift from God and he has uniquely gifted and created each one to reflect his glory. My goal is to nurture each child where they are and encourage them to grow developmentally, socially, academically, and spiritually. I hope each child experiences and learns about the greatness of God’s love through Jesus and learns how to share the good news of the gospel with others.
